Impact analysis
Expect the chief to influence police budget choices—staffing, overtime, equipment, and training—though the appointment itself doesn’t set a new tax rate.
Residents get continuity in police leadership from a 20-plus-year department veteran.
No groups are directly harmed by the appointment, though residents who favored a different candidate may be disappointed.
